At Cigno Family Dental we adore animals and love to give to organizations that help animals in need. We also know that having the love of a pet is one of life’s most rewarding experiences. That’s why we are collecting money and items for The Hank Fund, and we’d love to have your support.
On to the Field and into Our Hearts
The Hank Fund was created by the Wisconsin Humane Society on behalf of “Hank,” the stray dog who wandered onto the Brewer’s Training Field in Arizona last year. He was an instant sensation. Hank was adopted by the team and has since become the team’s most popular mascot. In the stadium gift shop, you can buy Hank t-shirts, stuffed animals and other fun things.
The Hank Fund is intended to raise awareness of the difficulties of homeless and stray animals in our community. Cigno Family Dental is gathering donations for the Milwaukee Humane Society in Hank’s name. All collected items and donations will go toward helping stray animals in the Milwaukee area.
A History of Helping
Founded in 1879, The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is a private nonprofit organization whose mission is to build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness—values we like to promote with all creatures, great and small. Taking care of animals and getting them placed in loving homes is rewarding and challenging work and they need our help!
How to Give
We are collecting items on the WHS wish list http://www.wihumane.org/donate/wish-list as well as financial donations. Wish list items run the spectrum of needs. They are asking for donations to help the animals and items to help run the business end of the shelters (it’s true: items range from Q-tips to a chainsaw for shelter maintenance).
Go through your closets and find some old towels you no longer use. They are perfect for guests of the shelter. Did you overdo it at the wholesale store and get too many paper goods? They are always looking for paper towels and tissues. Did you upgrade your digital camera this year? They are looking for a new video camera. All of it gets put to good use.
Feel like donating money instead? Thank you! We will be collecting financial donations to be given alongside the wish list items. Feel free to stop by and write a check or drop off a couple of dollars. Every bit helps and we appreciate every penny. And so does Hank.
