Cigno Family Dental believes in giving back with Hunger Task Force...
Every year around Thanksgiving, we’re called to remember that in the midst of our rushing around to make our own holiday feast superb, there are people in the world – and in fact, in our own neighborhoods - who cannot afford to do the same for their families.
At Cigno Family Dental, we believe in the importance of giving back as much as possible. That’s why we’re teaming up with the Hunger Task Force in November to collect non-perishable food items, and we have a special deal for participating patients:
For every 5 non-perishable food items you bring in, we’ll give you a $10 credit toward your account at the dental office!
That credit can be used toward cleanings, whitening, orthodontics or any other procedure you’re having done by Dr. Cigno and his team.
What Are We Collecting?
In case you’re unsure, here are some examples of the types of food items we’re looking for:
• Cheese or peanut butter crackers
• Beef jerky
• Applesauce
• Pudding
• Fruit cups
• Granola bars
• Power bars
• Canned vegetables, fruits and meats
Please check the expiry dates on any items and make sure that they are still consumable.
Where Do the Items Go?
The Hunger Task Force picks up the canned foods and delivers them to local soup kitchens, homeless shelters and food pantries – free of charge. As Milwaukee’s leading anti-hunger organization, their mission is to end hunger by bringing together members of the community who can afford to offer assistance.
When the Hunger Task Force picks up the goods we collect in the office, they are always grateful.
They explained to us that the recipients of the food are often hard-working families and elderly folks who simply aren’t making enough money to make ends meet.
During the holiday season, it becomes especially difficult for families to face this reality – and that’s why Cigno Family Dental is so honored to be able to facilitate this process.
Please, the next time you are in our neighborhood, stop by and say hello. If it fits in your holiday budget, we would so appreciate a contribution to our food drive – every can or box counts toward keeping people in Milwaukee healthy and well fed.
